Get Out the Vote

Women gained the hard-fought right to vote in 1920, the year YWCA NH was founded. Although the 19th Amendment granted this right, Black women, Native American women, Asian American Women, and other racial and ethnic minorities were often denied their rights until the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. For these reasons, YWCAs are deeply invested in ensuring that everyone who can participate in the right to vote does!

Your vote will determine the direction and values of our nation for years to come. From the kinds of medical care we can access to the ways our federal and state governments invest in housing, child care, violence prevention, and so much more, the results of the upcoming elections will have a direct impact on our day-to-day lives.

Check back in September for the YWomen Vote report for 2024 that tabulates the non-partisan survey results about the issues at stake for this election cycle. Let’s Get Out the Vote TOGETHER!
